Two brothers, scientists Scott and Tony Nelson, develop an amplifier which enables a person to enter a 4th dimensional state, allowing him to pass through any object. Scott experiments on himself and discovers that each time he passes through something he ages rapidly. He begins killing people, sucking out their life energies and regaining his youth as a result. It falls to Tony and Scott's girlfriend, Linda, to try to put a stop to his murderous rampage. I didn't have very high expectations for 4D man and when I started to watch it, the jazz music playing started to confirm my fears right at the start of the film. It really got the movie started off on the wrong foot. Other than the music, I must admit that it was a pretty good sci-fi movie. The acting was good, film quality good, very nice special effects and an unusual sci-fi plot. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that this movie was made in the mid 1960s and not 1959. It's my opinion that 4D Man is probably a little underrated as a 50s sci-fi, horror flick and should get more attention. Don't expect too much though. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a classic, but I think it's still a pretty good movie and is well worth watching. Let the 4D Man come through the wall for you. I don't think you will be disappointed. I have to admit that this movie had escaped my attention even though I'm a fan of 50's and 60's SciFi films. I disagree with the other comment here about inappropriate music. I feel the music as well as the look of the film add to the uniqueness of the effort. My only question is if Congdon's head (Tony Nelson character) is as huge in real life as it appears in some shots in the movie. There's a scene towards the end where Congdon is facing the viewer and Lee Meriwhether's character is facing him (her back is to the viewer). When I first saw this shot, I could've of sworn his image was being projected on a drive-in theater screen since Meriwhether looked disproportionate in front of him. A hilarious shot.

A mercenary is hired to take a professor out to a desolate area where a Russian MIG has crash-landed in order for the professor to check out the plane so they can take it away. However, the Russians don't want anyone but themselves getting their hands on the plane, because as it turns out the plane isn't quite what it's supposed to be. I knew it was a b-movie to begin with, but the action in the beginning of the film gave me hopes of something good. The use of a segmented view to the military operation is something that I enjoyed, but once I had the complete picture the film went no where. It was as if the writers got killed in the middle of shooting or something. The actors were better than your typical b-movie cast, with the exception of the nurse who was just a typical hardbody blonde. Save your hard earned bucks and pass this movie up. Vincent Miles (Greene) is a former Green Beret who is an excellent soldier, but has suffered some form of amnesia. Sections of his memory are lost, but occasionally tiny portions flash back into his mind. He doesn't want to give up his military skills, so he answers an ad in, you guessed it, Soldier of Fortune magazine. He travels to the border of Afghanistan, and this chance occurrence reunites him with his former Commanding Officer, Col. Preston (Svenson). The eyepatchioed Preston teams him up with a nerdy guy named Rossi, who naturally is acting as the brains of the mission, as well as a British guy and the token chick (played by Italo Disco singer Danuta). Their mission is to recover a Soviet plane, an ultra-modern MiG, before it falls into the hands of the enemy. With Miles' memories of a mysterious dancer (Gersak), and his having to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to this dangerous assignment, will the team make it out alive?

It's nice to see fan favorite Daniel Greene in the lead role, normally he's relegated to smaller parts. And he does have the classic late 80's/early 90's cool hair if all else fails. Soldier Of Fortune is a bit more competent than you might think - yes, it is your standard machine gun-shooting/blow-ups galore/guy-diving-out-of-a-guard-tower movie, but the desolate location shooting and the presences of Greene, Danuta, Gersak (however limited that may be) and of course Bo Svenson raise the level a bit. Svenson is always nice to see, and his eyepatch looks more like a discarded watchband. So, there's that.

Miles' sidekick in the movie, Rossi, provides some comic relief as he traipses around the battle zone with cargo shorts and socks pulled up to his knees. Another facet of his character is that he "likes music" and always has a Walkman. This as they're fighting the Spetznaz and various evil Russkies. Not to mention plenty of mustachioed locals. This movie was directed by Pierluigi Ciriaci, the man responsible for Delta Force Commando (1988) and Delta Force Commando II: Priority Red One (1990) - so there's going to be some wackiness, inadvertent or otherwise. For example, the base of the heroes uses Disney code names. So we get dialogue, with the most unsmiling seriousness imaginable, such as: "Goofy 6 has been compromised", "Disneyland's in trouble" and personal favorite: "Donald Duck's been replaced".

But just when you think things are slowing down towards the end of the movie, there's a nice little surprise which raises things up. We won't give any spoilers, but let's just say that if you have enjoyed movies such as White Fire (1984) or In Gold We Trust (1991), you'll appreciate the development. It's just too bad this idea wasn't utilized earlier on in the movie. Great things could have happened. We're grateful that it did happen, but in the end, Soldier Of Fortune really isn't super-awesome, nor is it bad. It's kind of run-of-the-mill.

FINAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Unfortunately, the only way to see this movie is the poor-quality DVD, unless you can miraculously find the Japanese VHS. Let's hope a better edition makes it to DVD soon, the one currently available is a barely-watchable disgrace.

In a place soon to be known as "The Valley of Death", in a football field-sized clearing called Landing Zone X-Ray, Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore and four hundred young troopers from the newly formed 1/7th Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. 1st Air Cavalry Division were surrounded by two thousand North Vietnamese soldiers dug into the tunnel warren mountainside. The ensuing battle was one of the most savage in U.S. history, and is portrayed here as the signal encounter between the American and North Vietnamese armies. This movie is a tribute to the nobility of those men under fire, their common acts of uncommon valor, and their loyalty to, and love for, one another. The story of the first major battle of the American phase of the Vietnam War, and the soldiers on both sides that fought it, while their wives wait nervously and anxiously at home for the good news or the bad news. Typical liberal pacifists slam this movie. But, this is true, honest, and delivers a message. If you don't like the message, SHAME ON YOU!!!

Gibson and Kinear give a stellar performance. The soundtrack reminded me of Vangelis, but hit the emotional button harder. This film not only showed the war-front experience, but also showed the tensions of the family left behind.

Editing is superb. The only minor complaint might be the explosive special effects, but you're so caught up in the movie, that you don't notice.

Ranks up there with the best!! I just recently was able to view We Were Soldiers and have watched it twice again. I have seen very few moved that have brought tears to my eyes but this one had me reaching for the tissue box over and over again. The realism was well researched and portrayed. This movie not only told the real story about war but it also displayed what a real hero is. Every soldier on that battle field was a real hero. They didn't go there seeking fame or even recognition, but to just do their jobs as soldiers. The soldier going into battle knowing full well that he may not come out displays the kind of bravery that you won't see on a baseball or football field. The men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our life styles and freedoms without asking for anything in return are the only true heroes. It's a shame that the book "We Were Soldiers Once . . . And Young" fell into the hands of writer-director Randall Wallace ("Braveheart"), a filmmaker who wouldn't recognize subtlety and understatement if they were to attack him in the street. When the VC soldier runs into the hollowed out tree, he checks the magazine in his AK-47, which was empty. He is pondering what he should do, when he fastens his bayonet on his rifle. His objective was likely to take out the Commanding Officer. But considering he had no ammo left, he ran the risk of dying trying to bayonet the Colonel or live and not complete his objective. This is done to make sure the rounds are properly seated in the magazine (so that the back end of the casing with the primer is flush against the back end of the mag). This reduces the risk of the weapon jamming. You can see Private Reiben do it in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan (1998) with a magazine for his BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) and Cowboy do it in Full Metal Jacket (1987).

Maybe I need to look a little closer at their website to find the second season, which IMDb says has already been shown.

This is primarily a series of shorts (maybe 7-10 minutes each) about street dance. Some folks might not consider some of it to be dance, but more like gymnastics or illusion. It's a fine line.

But whatever you call it, the dance is entertaining. And the music is really good too. Certainly the production values far exceed any other web series I've seen (keeping in mind I usually watch Star Trek fan films of varying levels of quality). This is a very slick production, even for television.

Where it falls apart is with the story. By episode ten, you're rolling your eyes at the guy who introduces each episode in such a cliché (and some might say offensive) way. And while I can understand the desire to turn what you do into a superpower, this is not the way to do it. Probably the best episode was Duet, which was just a simple sort of long-distance romance dance between a guy and a girl (still, points lost for making this I think the only episode that isn't all male). Another episode that was interesting was one that takes off on the familiar tale of magic dancing shoes (forget the title). But most of the rest are kinda embarrassing to admit watching. It seems to take place in a world where nobody dances, unless they have this super dance power, and then they split up into the LXD, and the bad guys. This is the sort of thing that maybe your own dance club or whatever might make as sort of a home video to remember old times, but you wouldn't broadcast it to the world.

So, to sum, great dancing, great music, polished to a shine, but the story is absurd.

I rate Season 1 at 7/10. Barely. Each episode is short enough that you can focus on the dancing, and mostly ignore the story. I don't see much room for the dancing or music to improve, so hopefully the story improves in Season 2. When i first saw a DVD of this show at my local video shop (season 1), I wasn't really interested but when i saw what the storyline was and who all the casts were on the internet, i came back the very next day and bought the DVD. This is probably one of the best series i have seen in a while. I was so intrigued that i even started to pick actors i had seen previously on Step Up 2 and Step Up 3D as well as finding out about the new upcoming dance stars. There is barely any dialogue in the whole series but that is probably the best thing about it because it tells a story not through words, but through music and dance. I have been impressed by the director, Jon Chu before (Step Up series) but this is a whole new level of entertainment. Those that enjoyed the Step up series as well as the TV Series, "So You Think You Can Dance" would really enjoy this series. Its a 10/10 from me. 3. Robot Love Story

Ho dato questo 7 su 10 perché le strane referenze di cultura pop e fad alla fine degli anni '80 / primi anni '90 fanno parte di quello che trovo divertente di questo show. Questo è un episodio interessante che tratta del tema della tossicodipendenza.Le persone che hanno familiarità con la tipica raffigurazione televisiva / cinematografica del ritiro prenderanno presto in considerazione la vera natura della presunta "cura della piaga". Un'interessante decisione di Picard di trattenere gli aiuti a causa della direttiva Prime, che ha così palesemente trascurato su Edo (anche se, naturalmente, sono contento che Wil Wheaton sia ancora vivo!).

Inoltre, c'è un'interessante, sorprendentemente mai affrontata (nello show o su qualsiasi wiki che potrei trovare), implicazione del finale. Mi è piaciuta una cosa, però: l'uso di un paio di canzoni folk celtiche. Durante la tempesta del vento nel parco giochi, non era questo il tema del Signore della Danza? E i testi di Stolen Child che hanno terminato l'episodio ("Il mondo è più pieno di lacrime di quanto possa capire") è stato un bel tocco.

Comunque, un episodio nella media al meglio. 5 su 10. Questo episodio mi ha fatto capire cosa sia un grande attore, il capitano Jack. Come Malcom Merlin è così capace eppure ....... adoro il capitano Jack!
